A good friend of mine just told me that she has five shows that she definitely has to watch every week. She, in turn, is amazed when I list the shows that I watch every week. How do I have time for it all? Honestly, I’m not sure. But I couldn’t do it without my DVR. (In fact, we’re getting a second one this week!) I sometimes watch four hours of television at night (fast-forwarding through all the commercials) and lately, if something isn’t holding my interest, I just delete it before I’m even finished watching it.
So, I’ve had to decide what I can “give up.” First on the list is Grey’s Anatomy. Why? Because I simply don’t care about any of the characters any more. I do not get George and Izzy together, I do not get what Meredith’s problem is (hello….he’s McDreamy!), I don’t care about Cristina and her interns that she can’t even bother to call by name, and believe it or not, I miss the fun that Addison brought to the show. Sadly, I can get all I need to get by reading the blog about it on TV Guide the next day.

TV is good this year! Do you have time for it all?

You're giving up Grey's? ACK!! Ok, so I kind of understand. The first two years were so great and now it's not a "Oh, I so can't wait for the next episode" kind of show. I loved Christina and Burke so to not see them together and instead have to watch Gizzie ruins it for me too. But I still watch. I haven't had to give anything up yet but once more shows start kicking in like AR (loved the Viva news!) and 24 and Lost, I may have to. Bionic Woman and Private Practice may the first to go. BW is entertaining, but it's not outstanding. I'm hoping PP continues to get better as I love Addison but if I missed an episode, I'd be ok. I wish they'd end ER cuz the only way I'm going to stop watching is if they end it. I've seen every episode from the beginning so can't quit on it but I think it's time to end it - especially since I don't have Ray and Neela to root for anymore :)
I loved ER up until a few years ago. When Carter lost his baby, I lost it. I just couldn't cry over that show any longer. I will still catch it every so often. But, I can definitely see how you don't want to drop that one if you've seen every episode since the beginning!
